THANK YOU for taking time to drop by today!
A little background: I grew up in the deep south, Baton Rouge, LA., surrounded by crawfish, LSU sports, moss hanging from the trees, and the sounds of Cajun Zydeco. I am thankful for my rich southern heritage and the people and places that shaped my life. Though I live in majestic Colorado now, my heart is always whistling Dixie and ready for a sit down at the crawfish table with friends :-)
I have fond memories of high-school musicals, singing with my church youth group, and leading music as part of the Louisiana American Legion Boys State program. My two high school musical mentors, Drew Shaw and Esther Socolofsky, taught me about the power of music and how it touches the soul. I am continually grateful for their encouraging words and investment in me. As students we were actually pretty good! Musicals like Godspell, South Pacific, Celebrate Life, and church choir tours with 100 plus kids on Greyhound buses... all wonderful memories that provided a foundation for my life.
FORT BRAGG
One of my most cherished memories when living in North Carolina was providing music leadership for worship and memorial services at Fort Bragg. I was deeply moved by the weekly interaction with the soldiers and Chaplains as we worshiped together. Equally powerful were the opportunities to serve as a music resource for memorial services. To look into the tearful eyes of a wife and mother who has lost a loved one in service to our country is something I will never forget. Providing music support on the army base was a unique window into the lives of those who protect our country. I am forever grateful for the memories and opportunities to be a part of their lives. Thank you for supporting these brave men and women who make daily sacrifices so we can live in a free nation.
